
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. rings the closing bell to kick-off their weeklong North Atlantic Regional Conference.
Alpha Kappa Alpha is the oldest sorority in the nation, founded in 1908. The organization boasts a membership of nearly 200,000 college-educated women in over 900 chapters throughout the United States, West Africa, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Germany, Korea, Great Britain, and Japan. Some of the organization's prominent members include the late Mrs. Coretta Scott King, the late Mrs. Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, Sir Ellen Johnson, the President of Liberia, among many other women who have made their mark in American history.
